ASUWT

ASUWT

I held multiple positions working close with students, staff, faculty, and administration by sitting and being vocal on multiple boards and committees, and throughout my positions in student leadership I have encouraged and supported all students to get somewhat involved or at least be aware of what goes on, on their campuses.

What I really want students to know about me is.....

I really want students to know that I like to help people and am interested in learning and experiencing new things. This provides me with the versatility I believe is needed in any position in order to make decisions without a negative or single sided bias.

Describe how you plan to balance your duties with ASUWT with your current academic load, social life, family life, etc.

Being that I’ve held multiple positions in the past most of which with minimal training and flourished, I believe that with the summer training and my past experience I will have ample time to organize my schedule according to the positions set agenda, giving me leverage when assessing any unexpected occurrences. As Van Gogh said "Great things are not done by impulse, but by a series of small things brought together”, so taking from that I plan to plan for the worst while working on being the best.

Why have you decided to run for office?

After working for ASUWT for the last year I have meticulously took the time to understand every facet of the President’s position. I understand the depth and breadth of this position. Combined with my passion to serve the students, I feel I am the most qualified candidate for this position.

What experiences and qualifications do you have?

As a Peer Adviser and ASUWT Public Relations Senator I have provided students with programs such as Healthy Husky Hearts, Alternative Transportation video, Stop By, Say Hi, Open Public Forums, Hood Corridor, Husky on the Hill and much more. I have also attended SAFC and Board of Regents meetings representing the students.

What I really want students to know about me is.....

I have taken the last year as a senator to provide students with the best possible resources so they can thrive at UWT. As both a Peer Adviser and Public Relation Senator, I have taken my role seriously with the students I serve as my guide. And I believe I can move ASUWT to the future.

Describe how you plan to balance your duties with ASUWT with your current academic load, social life, family life, etc.

As a commuter student and an ASUWT official, I understand the necessity to manage time. Serving as a Peer Adviser and an ASUWT official, I have worked for two years as a student leader an still kept up quarterly dean’s list grades. I continue to hold my high standard of productivity and serving the students.
