From impeachment to public office: how could it happen?

At first glance, you may find yourself thinking that could never happen, but it has. Let me explain. Consider the case of Alcee Hastings. Hastings served as a federal court judge in Florida from 1979 to 1989. His term ended abruptly when he was impeached and removed from office for corruption and perjury related to a $150,000 bribe he was to receive for showing leniency in a court case.

How do you feel about guns on our campus?

After some recent crime incidents on or near the UW Seattle campus, some UW Seattle students want to be able to bring guns on their campus.

UW Seattle students support the bill to allow concealed-carry guns on campus

Recent crime incidents on the UW Seattle campus have prompted some students and politicians to call for concealed weapons at Washington state universities.

Until now, the University of Washington has strictly been a "no gun" campus. But some students want that to change in light of recent campus crimes. For 16 states the ban on guns is enforced within college campuses, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures.

Student Life hosted the ceremony to honor outstanding UWT student leaders and student organizations.

The red carpet was the place to be Friday night at the Longshoreman's Hall, for the O.S.C.A.R.S. - or "Outstanding Student Ceremony for Awards and Recognition" celebration. Catered by Snuffins and Celebrity Cake Studio for desserts, the evening started off with good food and mingling before entertainment and awards.
