If you park on the street and move your vehicle every hour or two to avoid a ticket, the city has your number. New devices used by the city will monitor "chain parking" as well as track vehicles parked longer than the allotted time.
This past week, Parking Enforcement Officers for the City of Tacoma began using handheld electronic devices to improve their enforcement efforts.
Once the ordinance is in place, those who "move to evade" may find $75 tickets on their cars - a fine that costs more than several quarterly pass options for students.
