Welcome to autumn quarter of the academic year 2004-05 at the University of Washington, Tacoma (UWT). Inside the first issue of The Ledger is information about the organizations and services that are available to current students.
Students often wonder when they should start seeking internship or senior thesis possibilities, required from many departments of study. The answer is, at least two quarters before the internship or senior thesis is started. For more information concerning what is available in Tacoma, or local cities, see the article written by Ledger staff writer, Brooke Berard, called, "Students should seek internships immediately," on page four.
An interesting article written by Ledger staff writer Mike Horn, that discusses the possibility of UWT becoming a four-year university, titled "Legislature asks university to study the future," on page seven. Wondering what student organizations are available to enrich college life while attending classes? See the article written by Ledger editor and writer, Tonya Muri, "Student clubs offer fun," on page 10.
This is just a sampling of the articles found in the back-to-school issue of The Ledger. The Ledger welcomes input and articles from all departments of the Tacoma campus. To submit articles to The Ledger, simply email the Microsoft Word document to ledger@u.washington.edu.
If you have any questions, please call The Ledger staff at 253-692-4482, or drop by The Ledger office located in the Mattress Factory building, room 151. We look forward to hearing from the UWT campus community, and wish everyone the best of luck in this new school year.
