Kathleen Santos, an IAS major was found not breathing outside the Walsh Gardner building Saturday morning by some students, who then contacted campus security via one of the campus's blue emergency phones, according to a letter sent out in e-mail by the Chancellor earlier today. When they responded, neither campus security nor the Tacoma Fire Department could resuscitate her. The Tacoma Police Department also responded to the scene, but filed no police report as there was no criminal investigation. Kathleen was a transfer student from Centralia Community College where she made the honor roll in Fall 2010. Authorities suspect no foul play. Even though she was only at UWT a short while, the school will remember her as a member of our community and the loss of her has deeply affected  students on campus and left many students stunned with feelings of grief, even if they didn't know Kathleen. Our sympathies go out to Kathleen's family and friends.
